Yesterday, Empire Magazine teased a big announcement on their social media platforms, concerning Star Wars. It was a simple space and stars background image with the phrase “Hello There…” in blue font similar to the words at the beginning of all Star Wars movies. In the social media post the company teased that an announcement was coming at 4pm.
Many fans (including us) thought that this might mean an official Lucasfilm announcement of another season of Obi-Wan Kenobi. Boy were we wrong… I should have realized that most of these reveals come from Lucasfilm themselves, and if they let a magazine reveal anything, it is usually Anthony Briznican at Vanity Fair.
In any case, Empire Magazine did reveal their big Star Wars news and unfortunately it was not the news we were hoping for, but it still could interest some people. Empire is celebrateing 25 years of the Star Wars prequels – speaking to Hayden Christensen, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman & more in brand new interviews. There are two collectible covers seen below. The magazine is out Thursday, February 15.
There is also a cover exclusively for subscribers of the magazine delving into the joyous toybox of the prequels, packed with individual illustrations of its greatest heroes and most dastardly villains by Bill McConkey. If I must say, that is the best cover of them all.
Even though this is not the news we were hoping for, you can bet that there will be a ton of information in this magazine. So make sure you snag a copy when it goes on sale February 15. MTFBWY!
