There is still power left in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Thanks to Lucasfilm celebrating the 40th anniversary of the film, the company decided to rerelease the movie to theaters starting April 28, for a week long run. Fans of the force, took note and seemingly took to the theaters (count me in as one who attended), to experience the movie again in front of the big screen and big speakers.

BoxOfficeMojo is reporting that the film took in $4.7 million over the weekend, which saw the film finish at number five. It trailed only behind the juggernaut known as Super Mario Brothers $40 million, Evil Dead Rise $12.2 million, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret $6.8 million and John Wick Chapter 4 $5 million.

That is big numbers for a film that was released originally in 1983! If you haven’t gone to experience the movie on the big screen yet, you have until May 4th here in the US. Do yourself a favor, and go splurge on a ticket to watch this extraordinary film the way it was meant to be seen!
