During the Star Wars Rebels panel at Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017, we learned many things about season 4 that will probably leave us very sad, including the closure of the series. During the panel, Dave Filoni revealed that the final season will play out like one long story arc that will be filled with dark plot points. Now news is making the rounds that Star Wars Rebels season 4 will only be 16 episodes long.
The news wasn’t released in full via official press release, but was only released to a few select outlets. According to Lucasfilm’s Tracy Cannobbio it is officially 16 episodes long, with a few two-part episodes.
How does this affect your thoughts about the final season of Star Wars Rebels? Did you want more? Or is a tighter 16 episode story better? As always, leave your thoughts in the appropriate place.
About Star Wars Rebels:
Having established a secret base on Atollon, the Ghost crew, now led by a more powerful Ezra, strengthens the rebel fleet by acquiring new resources and recruits eager to stand against the Empire. However, the Imperial efforts to eliminate the rebellion are now being led by the coldly analytical Grand Admiral Thrawn, whose strategic, tactical and cultural insights make him a threat unlike any they have faced before. In season three, Ezra and Sabine take on new roles and challenges as the rebels prepare for their biggest mission yet – a direct assault on the Empire.
