In case you are not in the know about these sorts of things, Lucasfilm is working on a new “young” Han Solo spinoff film. The company has been searching far and wide, and if you listen to the rumors, one of the biggest casting searches in the history of film.
According to NBC, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, Jack Reynor, Scott Eastwood, Logan Lerman, “Brooklyn” star Emory Cohen and “Everybody Wants Some” actor Blake Jenner are among the names making the cut.
The new Han Solo film does not begin production until next January, but sources close to the situation say the reason for such an early casting decision has more to do with Rogue One, which is currently shooting, rather than the untitled “Han Solo” film.
Disney and Lucasfilm seem to be looking for actors between the ages of 20 to 25. The only actor listed in the shortlist outside of this age range was Scott Eastwood. The studios tested actors as young as 17 to as old as 34.
