It’s official folks! J.J. Abrams is back to write and direct the last installment of the sequel trilogy! More news is coming. Abrams will co-write the film with Chris Terrio.
“With The Force Awakens, J.J. delivered everything we could have possibly hoped for, and I am so excited that he is coming back to close out this trilogy,” said Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy.
I believe that this was kind of a no-brainer considering the success of the first movie. Now the bigger questions become how do they handle the death of Carrie Fisher, do they go back on their statements about not having a CGI Leia in the film, and how the fan community accepts Abrams back as the director of the final installment of the sequel trilogy.
As always, leave your thoughts in the appropriate places…
