Hallelujah! ReedPOP the official team behind Star Wars Celebration, has finally taken fan feedback to heart! Having been to a Celebration event before, I can say without a doubt that the most disheartening thing about Star Wars Celebration is the lines for panels. Wanted to get into that big movie panel? Well you would have had to start your journey early the day before. We have all seen the massive lines for The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. People camping out overnight, greeted by directors with pizza. While there is a bit of fun to be had with that, at 42 years old, spending the night on a cement floor is not my cup of tea.
This year ReedPOP will be implementing a Virtual Queue system and accompanying method for making reservations for your most desired panels through the use of the Star Wars Celebration Chicago Mobile App. Notice the asterisk by the first bullet point. It sounds like not all panels will have this option. Hopefully this works for all of the major panels though.
I certainly hope that this works out, and fans that wouldn’t have an opportunity to get into one of these panels now have that option.
