If you have been around long enough, or done any research on the creation of the Millennium Falcon vehicle/playset from Kenner, then you will know of Mark Boudreaux. Mark has been the mastermind behind most of the Millennium Falcon vechiles/playsets from Kenner/Hasbro since the beginning of Star Wars. Boudreaux also helped develop the Kenner Star Wars Micro World line and the mini-rig ships during the 1980’s. Boudreaux continued to work on the Star Wars property for Hasbro through Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Star Wars: Rebels.
Boudreaux’s likeness was used on the Endor-soldier figure, a Rebel Blockade Runner Trooper figure, and an exclusive AT-ST pilot figure.
In January, Mark was hospitalized due to complications from COVID. He had been fighting since, but needed a lung transplant. Mark sadly passed away from the complications of COVID-19.
Mark leaves behind a legacy of Star Wars toys that have helped capture the imagination of countless numbers of kids and adults around the world. He was not only an inspiration to the Star Wars fan community, but also fellow toy designers who grew up playing with the toys he helped design.
The world is a little bit darker without his light shining. Our hearts go out to his wife Judy and family.
Disney Parks is wanting to get you even more hyped about the opening of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at DisneyLand and DisneyWorld, with the release of the latest image. Via their social media sites, Disney Parks released a behind-the-scenes completed look at the Millennium Falcon for their Smuggler’s Run ride.
We aren’t sure which park this one is at, but you can tell that some of the building are still under construction, via the scaffolding on the outside of some of them.

Thanks to the New York Time’s Brooks Barnes, we now have some new information about the upcoming Millennium Falcon Smuggler’s Run rider coming soon to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney parks in the United States.
According to his tweet, which you can view below, the ride will have 4 guests in each pod, but can accommodate 1,800 people per hour. CNN’s Frank Pallotta added that the ride will use real-time video rendering technology invented by ILM, that responds to the way guests use the controls to pilot the ship. Oh, and there are 200 controls to use in each pod!!!
I tried a test version of the Millennium Falcon ride as part of reporting. Built in a CA warehouse. I must say, pretty amazing. You're in the cockpit with only a few others. But they will have enough pods to handle 1,800 people/hour. https://t.co/sZqTbu9n7b

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Nissan’s latest Star Wars-themed custom show vehicle lands on the Hollywood red carpet at the world premiere of “Solo: A Star Wars Story’ this evening. Based upon the brand’s best-selling 2018 Nissan Rogue, the custom show vehicle takes inspiration from the iconic Millennium Falcon featuring unmistakable elements from the most-capable ship in the galaxy.
“As the third installment of our own trilogy of collaborations with Lucasfilm, we raised the bar delivering our best custom show vehicle yet,” said Jeremy Tucker, Nissan’s vice president of marketing communications and media. “We started with the best-selling Nissan Rogue and worked with the talented concept designers at Lucasfilm and ILM. Then we turned to the experts at Vehicle Effects bring it to life. The result is hands-down the most complete and thrilling vehicle we’ve ever done.”
Merging the likeness of the Millennium Falcon with the Nissan Rogue was a natural fit. ProPILOT Assist, a Nissan Intelligent Mobility technology, helps drivers maintain speeds and guide the Rogue “Straight Down the Center.” Similarly, the Millennium Falcon always seems to find its way out of trouble ahead by navigating obstacles with apparent ease.
The Millennium Falcon-inspired Rogue is the most extensive Star Wars-themed Nissan custom show vehicle build to date, practically appearing as though it flew right off the screen. In addition to a fully customized movie-inspired exterior, for the first time, this Star Wars-inspired Nissan receives a full interior makeover channeling the iconic cockpit of the Millennium Falcon.
Kids of all ages are going to enjoy the level of detail and craftsmanship that went into the interior of the build. Just as any Star Wars fan would expect, the interior features buttons, lights and sound effects closely reflecting the sights and sounds of the Millennium Falcon’s cockpit. It also features front- and second-row chairs like those seen inside the Millennium Falcon. Additionally, center-mounted “hyperdrive” controls bring the package to life.
The exterior is where the workmanship of the build shines. Custom handcrafted aluminum body panels feature details mimicking the Millennium Falcon, while 3D-printed inserts bring another level of immersive depth to the project. A roof-mounted radar dish and laser cannon appear as though they were lifted right from the movie set. Up front, the multi-pane windshield clearly resembles that of the on-screen hero.
But the rear of the craft is where all the magic happens. The subspace-hyperdrive unit spanning the entire width of the Rogue appropriately glows blue, while a trio of high-mounted Bose speakers and an 18-in. Bose subwoofer provide the aural experience. Inside and out, the Bose system delivers an impressive 1,500 watts.
Custom fabrication for the Millennium Falcon themed Rogue was completed at Vehicle Effects in Burbank, Calif. Vehicle Effects has a storied history in crafting custom vehicles for on-screen use and is responsible for all previous Nissan Star Wars-themed show vehicles.
“Solo: A Star Wars Story” is in theaters nationwide on Friday, May 25.

If you are heading to Target this week, pick up some LEGO stuff and you will get a free Mini Millennium Falcon set. If you are not in the market for other LEGO sets (because you own them all), then you can still snag this for a cool $4.99.
Throughout this month Target stores in the USA are offering a different free gift with LEGO purchases each week and this week, 12-18 November, it’s this mini Millennium Falcon which is the only unique item on offer.
It’s packed in a polybag and appears to be the same as the model given away at Star Wars Celebration in 2015, which we don’t have in the database but which is included in the DK Ultimate LEGO Star Wars book. This one has a different printed plate, though.
There’s a shocking lack of quality control on the packaging: there’s a ‘n’ missing in the craft’s name and parts are, apparently, made in ‘Hungury’, among other places, according to the back of the bag.
You can pick up even more LEGO Star Wars sets at our affiliate site Entertainment Earth! Take a look at a few of the sets to add to your Christmas list below!

Remove individual hull plates to reveal the highly detailed main hold, rear compartment and gunnery station. This amazing model also features interchangeable sensor dishes and crew, so you decide whether to play out classic LEGO Star Wars adventures with Han, Leia, Chewbacca and C-3PO, or enter the world of Episode VII and VIII with older Han, Rey, Finn and BB-8!
75192 Millennium Falcon
Ages 16+. 7,541 pieces.
US $799.99
As shown in the images, the set will include minifigures from the Empire Strikes Back (Chewbacca, Leia, Han Solo and C3PO) and from the Force Awakens (Rey, TFA Han Solo, Finn and BB8). It will also include a brick built Mynock and two Porgs. To allow buyers to display the ship as it was in either TESB or TFA, the kit also includes a separate build for the rectangular radar dish from TFA which can be swapped with the circular one from TESB and features two builds to modify the craft’s mandibles to how they were seen in TFA.
Lego previously released a Millennium Falcon as part of their UCS line a few years ago but this one is much bigger, more detailed and complex, making use of new pieces and different techniques to create a model that looks even more impressive and realistic. Furthermore, it has parts of a detailed interior, as seen in the photos, unlike the previous release, which are accessible by removing parts of the roof structure and has enough space to comfortably seat the figures. These include the gun station, cockpit, part of the corridor seen in TESB, the seating area with holochess table and the room where Finn and Rey attempt to make repairs in TFA. It also features a working boarding ramp, 7 landing legs and concealed blaster cannon. If you want an even closer look at these intricate details on the model then the designer video for the set has also been released.
If the previous UCS incarnation of the iconic vehicle was anything to go by, once this set gets discontinued in 2 years, its price will skyrocket so those wanting to get this set will have to begin remortgaging now.
Includes 4 classic crew minifigures: Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and C-3PO.
Also includes 3 Episode VII/VIII crew minifigures: Older Han Solo, Rey and Finn.

Exterior features include intricately detailed and removable hull panels, a lowering boarding ramp, concealed blaster cannon, 4-minifigure cockpit with detachable canopy, interchangeable round/rectangular sensor dishes, upper and lower quad laser cannons, and 7 landing legs.
