Thanks to the official Twitter account for the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi, we have our look at the new Darth Vader billboard in New York’s Times Square. The innovative technology is comes from the minds at Disney, ILM, and LG using OLED technology.
In September of 2021, LG announced a new 3D content series using their massive high-definition digital billboard overlooking New York City’s iconic Times Square. The three-phase visual spectacle reflects LG’s efforts to engage with viewers directly around seasons that people experience universally, despite the distance created by the new normal.
Taking full advantage of the LG Times Square billboard with its unique curved design, the 3D content harnesses the power of forced perspective to display imaginative multi-dimensional illusions which share LG’s core messaging that together.
Fans of Star Wars got their first experience with new digital billboard during the release of Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett. Now fans visiting Times Square will get to see Darth Vader scaring little kids on the streets of New York. Check out the embed below for a look at the entire scene.
