New Rey Premium Format Figure from Sideshow!

Inspired by her character evolution in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker™, the Rey Premium Format Figure measures 20.5” tall and 11.5” wide as the former scavenger brandishes her blue lightsaber atop the Death Star ruins, demonstrating the legacy of the Jedi teachings. Waves from the oceans of Kef Bir™ crash around the wreckage as Rey leaps to strike at her foe. The Star Wars figure also includes a Jedi Wayfinder proximity piece that can be displayed alongside the scene to guide your display in the ways of the Force.

The polystone Rey Premium Format Figure features a mixed media costume application with tailored white fabric robes enhancing the action-packed sculpt of her white bodysuit. The white lower lengths of Rey’s outfit include wire in the hem for dynamic posing in the windy surf of the ocean moon of Endor. Her armbands, wraps, and boots are all sculpted and painted to simulate weathered fabric textures, and the figure wears a faux-leather belt with a pistol holster at her hip. Rey’s stunning portrait captures her focus and intensity in battle and comes complete with her unique hairstyle, from delicate flyaway strands to her signature triple segment buns.

This is up for pre-order now at Sideshow for $620.00. This one has an expected ship date of Jan 2023 – April 2023. Check out the small gallery of images below.

Lightsaber Swap Fail at Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser

Reviews have been pouring in from the media-only preview of Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. The majority of them have been extremely positive and from the sounds of it, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser might be a successful endeavor for Disney (if you don’t count that extremely high price point.)

During your stay you are put smack dab in the middle of the battle between the First Order and the Resistance. This plays out in choices you makes, things you do and your overall participation level during the experience. At some point, a fight breaks out between Kylo Ren and Rey, in which we get to see Disney’s new lightsaber technology. Well, you get to see it for a quick second. Then there is that oh-so awkward moment where Rey switches from the cool new lightsaber, to one she can actually fight with.

If you scroll to about the minute mark in the video, you can see the awkward exchange of lightsabers. However, most fans experiencing this live didn’t seem to notice, as they were enthralled at the adventure around them. Still, what an take-you-out-of-the-adventure moment for what otherwise seems to be an exciting experience.

“REYLO” ISSUE ADDRESSED IN ‘THE RISE OF SKYWALKER’

It doesn’t matter which side of the fence you land on concerning Kylo Ren and Rey’s relationship. Should the be a couple? Are they more than that? Is there anything to it at all? For those with questions about the pair’s relationship status, EW has the answer. In a new interview with Daisy Ridley, she says that the question will be answered in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

“It does not bother me, people writing theories,” Ridley said. “It’s really fun hearing them. Plus, because I know what’s sort of going to happen, I think it’ll be really interesting to see people’s reaction to [the final film]. Obviously, there’s this whole Reylo thing and some people are very passionate about it, some aren’t.”

Ridley hinted that the seemingly romantic connection isn’t left unaddressed by director J.J. Abrams in The Rise of Skywalker.

“J.J. does deal with [it],” she added. “It’s a very complex issue. People talk about toxic relationships and whatever it is. It’s no joke and I think it’s dealt with really well because it’s not skimmed over.”

How do you want the relationship to turn out? Do you even care? As always leave your thoughts in the comment section below.

Po-Zu Reveals their Process in Creating the Rey Boot

Po-Zu Logo

Are you into Star Wars galaxy fashions in your every day life?  Well the fine folks at Po-Zu are, and they deliver some of the sportiest looking footwear this side of Mos Eisley.  The company has released a new video featuring the making of their boot based on Rey from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

I stopped by their booth at Star Wars Celebration Orlando, and I must admit that some of those shoes were very tempting, especially the Poe Dameron based shoe.

Enjoy the video below!

Po-Zu footwear collection inspired by some of the films’ lead characters (under license with Lucasfilm/Disney). Following a highly successful pre-launch at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando last month, Po-Zu are excited to offer 7 styles to international audiences prior to delivery in August 2017. The collection includes: -6 styles for women, 5 styles for men and 5 styles for children which retail between £85 -£225.

Sven Segal, Founder and Creative Director says: “We built the range to be a collectible but also highly wearable. We wanted the shoes to resonate with the Star Wars community whilst also being commercially designed by incorporating some strong trend-led cues. What was really great about the Orlando show is the craftsmanship and quality were widely praised –our history of working in partnership with our suppliers has helped us to bring our ethics into this range we love.”The Rey boot, which features wool tweed, natural cork, natural latex and the signature Po-Zu Foot-Mattress™, has been authentically designed and crafted to closely resemble the boots worn in the film by Daisy Ridley.Other main characters’boots include Finn, Poe, Stormtrooper and Chewie, while other more general themed pieces include highly versatile vegan sneakers made with organic cotton and emblazoned with the Rebel Alliance and BB-8 symbols. Rey cosplayer Jenny Briggs says: “These boots are the most comfortable I have ever worn and I love that they complete my outfit so perfectly, they are just like the shoes worn in the film.”

New Animated Series Forces of Destiny Coming Soon with an Official Hasbro Line of Toys

Hasbro is bringing toys to the new animated series Forces of Destiny!  They just sent over a few official images of the new figures.  Check it out below!

Glendale, Calif. (April 13, 2017) – Disney and Lucasfilm today announced Star Wars Forces of Destiny, a new initiative celebrating the inspiring stories of iconic heroes from across the Star Wars universe. An original series of animated shorts (each 2-3 minutes in length) will explore exciting, all new adventures of key characters including Rey, Jyn Erso, Sabine Wren, Princess Leia, Ahsoka Tano and others, ahead of books and a TV special later in the year. The stories will also be supported by a line of toys from Hasbro, including new ‘Adventure Figures’ – a fusion between traditional dolls and action figures, creating a whole new way to play Star Wars.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MF2VFgCUSk

“Star Wars Forces of Destiny is for anyone who has been inspired by Leia’s heroism, Rey’s courage, or Ahsoka’s tenacity,” said Kathleen Kennedy, President of Lucasfilm. “We’re thrilled that so many of the original actors are reprising their roles in these shorts which capture the small moments and everyday decisions that shape who these characters are. It is a fun new way for people to experience Star Wars.”

Developed by Lucasfilm Animation, Star Wars Forces of Destiny will remain true to the Star Wars canon, showing how choices both big and small ultimately shape the destinies of beloved characters. Launching in July, the animated micro-series will be available on Disney YouTube ahead of a two-part TV special featuring eight additional shorts on Disney Channel in Fall 2017. Fans will be delighted to hear familiar voices in the series, including: Daisy Ridley (Rey), Felicity Jones (Jyn), Tiya Sircar (Sabine), Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka Tano) and Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata as narrator).

Star Wars Forces of Destiny will also be supported by global product extensions, including books, apparel, bedding, and toys – including the new line of ‘Adventure Figures’ created by Hasbro, which bridges the gap between traditional action figures and dolls. Each individually designed figure features dynamic action, like Rey swinging her lightsaber, along with multiple points of articulation to help recreate the characters’ adventures and heroic moments with different poses.

“From Princess Leia to Sabine Wren, Star Wars heroines are unique, and we wanted to represent that in the product line for Star Wars Forces of Destiny,” said Jimmy Pitaro, Chairman, Disney Consumer Products and Interactive Media. “The result is the creation of our new ‘Adventure Figures’ that celebrate the power and stories of these incredible characters and allow kids to recreate their most heroic moments at home.”

The 11-inch figures will depict characters including Rey, Jyn Erso, Princess Leia, Sabine Wren, plus loveable sidekicks and epic villains like BB-8, Chewbacca, Kylo Ren and many more. Hasbro is also rolling out Star Wars Forces of Destiny role play and accessories—from Rey’s Extendable Staff, to a new, electronic Jedi Power Lightsaber, which are part of their Star Wars Bladebuilders system.

Adds John Frascotti, President of Hasbro: “As the Star Wars fan base has broadened over the last 40 years, we have continued to add new and exciting play experiences to the Star Wars brand, to engage fans across generations. We’ve worked closely with Disney to bring the storytelling from Star Wars Forces of Destiny to life through this innovative toy line to help connect with new audiences as well as appeal to existing fans.”

Fans attending Star Wars Celebration in Orlando will see a sneak peak of Star Wars Forces of Destiny during the “Heroines of Star Wars” panel on Friday, April 14. The panel, moderated by Amy Ratcliffe – host of “Lattes with Leia” podcast, will feature Carrie Beck – vice president of animation at Lucasfilm and Dave Filoni – executive producer of Star Wars Rebels, as well as Ashley Eckstein, Tiya Sircar and other surprise guests. For a first look at the new Star Wars Forces of Destiny Adventure Figures, stop by Hasbro booth #2744.
