Iron Studios Darth Vader Samurai Statue: A Sith Lord Reimagined in Feudal Splendor

Close-up of the Iron Studios Darth Vader Samurai Statue 1/10 scale holding a red lightsaber katana against a red sun background.

The intersection of George Lucas’s galaxy far, far away and the legendary cinema of Akira Kurosawa has long been a point of fascination for Star Wars fans. It is no secret that the Jedi and Sith were heavily inspired by the samurai of feudal Japan, from their strict codes of honor to the design of their iconic helmets. Now, Iron Studios is bringing that conceptual connection full circle with the announcement of the Iron Studios Darth Vader Samurai Statue.

This stunning new 1/10 Art Scale release is now available for pre-order, offering a unique reinterpretation of the Dark Lord of the Sith that bridges the gap between science fiction and ancient history.

A Conceptual Masterpiece

The Iron Studios Darth Vader Samurai Statue is part of the manufacturer’s celebrated Art Scale line, known for its incredible attention to detail and high-quality polystone construction. Unlike traditional Vader statues that aim for screen accuracy from the films, this “Original Samurai Concept” piece takes creative liberties to imagine what Anakin Skywalker would look like as a high-ranking daimyo or shogun.

Standing at approximately 10 inches tall, the statue features Vader in a commanding pose. The most striking element is the armor. While the silhouette remains unmistakably Vader, every plate and joint has been redesigned to reflect traditional Japanese gusoku armor. The chest plate, which usually houses life-support buttons, is transformed into intricate lacquered plating, while his flowing black cape takes on the appearance of a heavy ceremonial jimbaori.

Intricate Details for Star Wars Fans

Iron Studios has spared no expense in the craftsmanship of this piece. The helmet, perhaps the most iconic part of Vader’s design, is reimagined with a traditional samurai kabuto aesthetic, featuring a more pronounced flare and ornate gold-trimmed detailing.

The textures on the statue are particularly noteworthy. Collectors will find a mix of metallic finishes on the armor plates and simulated fabric textures on the undergarments. Even the lightsaber has been given a makeover; it is held like a traditional katana, with a hilt that suggests a weapon forged in a different era while maintaining that signature crimson glow in its design.

The themed base further elevates the presentation. Moving away from the typical cold, metallic floors of the Death Star, this statue sits atop a base inspired by oriental architecture and stone-carved motifs, grounding the character in his new conceptual environment.

SEO Specifications and Pre-Order Details

Iron Studios Unveils Awesome Anakin Skywalker Pod Racer Statue!

Iron Studios has just put up for pre-order a fantastic looking Anakin Skywalker and Pod Racer statue! It looks like it flew right off the screen into your hands! The upcoming statue is $749.99 and will ship in Q1 of 2024. You can pre-order right from their site.

Over the scorching sands from the desolate and desertic planet Tatooine, among gorges, mountains, caves, and treacherous rocky formations, a dangerous and mortal race competition takes place. Moving in high speed with perilous maneuvers, one-man repulsorcrafts known simply as Podracers compete among themselves, like sleds propelled by big turbine engines. Believing to be the only human being capable of competing, in a scenario in which this sport is usually practiced by aliens from various worlds, an enslaved boy from the Mos Espa market, joins a Jedi master in a bet in which the prize is his freedom. Over a diorama base replicating part of the race’s track, with one of the propeller turbines raising clouds of sand next to the ground, displaying a dynamic scene with the vehicle inclined as if it’s turning a curve, Iron Studios present the statue “Anakin’s Podracer – Star Wars – Demi Art Scale 1/20”, with the young Skywalker in his vehicle built by his own hands, in the emblematic scene where he fights for his freedom in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) which celebrates its 25th Anniversary, commemorated by Iron Studios with this release!

Anakin Skywalker was born on the desert planet Tatooine, in the Outer Rim Territories, in 41 ABY. He was the son of Shmi Skywalker, an enslaved woman that conceived a fatherless son. His blood had midi-chlorians (intelligent and microscopic life forms that originated from the foundation of life in the center of the galaxy and ultimately resided within the cells of all living organisms, thereby forming a symbiotic relationship with their hosts: The Force), which surpass the Grand Master Yoda and all the other Jedi on the galaxy. The Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn discovered Anakin during the invasion of Naboo in 32 ABY and theorized that Skywalker was conceived by the midi-chlorians. Betting on races was a popular hobby among many in Tatooine, and was through a bet made by Qui-Gon with Watto, Anakin’s owner, that Skywalker was set free. Anakin Skywalker won the Boonta Eve Classic, an annual Podrace and cultural event taking place in Tatooine, happening inside and around the Grand Arena in Mos Espa, defeating the favorite and treacherous Sebulba, and guaranteeing his freedom from a life of enslavement.

Chasing his old master above the dry lands of a rocky moon with no name, the most powerful and fearsome dark knight of the Empire commands his crew to prepare his ship, and leaves, vowing his adversary him alone. In a fierce lightsaber battle in a labyrinth of rock pinnacles, facing a drained but still determined Obi-Wan Kenobi, that, while focusing on the memories of the young Luke and Leia, motivated to protect them, manages to strike a blow damaging Vader’s helmet and partially revealing a bit of what remained of his human face. Wielding his red lightsaber in his right hand, even though he is hurt in the back, fueled by the Dark Side of the Force, the Sith Lord raises pointed pieces of rocks, ready to throw them at his opponent. Inspired by the sixth and last episode of the first season of the Obi-Wan Kenobi show from the streaming service Disney +, Iron Studios proudly present the statue “Darth Vader – Obi-Wan Kenobi – BDS Art Scale 1/10”, celebrating May the 4th, the Star Wars Day, in a very special way!

Considered the greatest villain in the history of cinema, Darth Vader is the main character in the Star Wars saga by George Lucas. Present in the movies of the original trilogy, in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, in the second prequel trilogy, and the anthological Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, besides the animated series, comic books, and video games, Vader has his dark helmet, armor, and cape, and his noisy mechanical breathing as his outstanding features. Born as Anakin Skywalker, he was a slave until he was 9 years old on planet Tatooine. Rescued by the Jedi called Obi-Wan Kenobi from which he became an apprentice, a deep anger fed by personal tragedies took the then Jedi Knight to the Dark Side of the Force, becoming the apprentice of the evil Darth Sidious. Anakin becomes known as Darth Vader, the iconic villain of the franchise. From then on, he would be responsible for the order of the entire galaxy. Despite everything, there was still some kindness in Darth Vader. The actor Hayden Christensen, who played the role of Anakin in the prequel trilogy, returned as Darth Vader, with and without the armor in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, while James Earl Jones returned to voice the iconic character.

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away…or more precisely, in May of 1977, movie theaters presented the world phenomenon Star Wars, one of the most successful franchises of all time. To celebrate this date, May 4th became Star Wars Day, due to a pun in English with the iconic phrase “May the Force be with you”, with which fans quoted “May the Fourth be with you”, referring to the release date of the first film.

New Star Wars Statues from Iron Studios Showcase Cad Bane and Darth Maul!

Iron Studios just dropped their latest solicitation information and this drop includes two brand new Star Wars statues. Cad Bane will receive the 1/10 scale treatment, while Darth Maul will be getting a 1/4 scale statue. Check out all the details below!

Cad Bane – The Book of Boba Fett – Art Scale 1/10

Walking on the scorching sands of the barren desert from planet Tatooine, at the gates of the city of Freetown, just like an American Old West gunslinger, a sinister and slender figure with cruel red eyes under his characteristic wide-brimmed fedora, wearing a brown overcoat, positions his skillful and fast hands, ready to draw his twin blaster pistols LL-30 from his belt holster, challenging the local sheriff Cobb Vanth for a duel. In the month of May, commemorating the Star Wars saga, Iron Studios proudly present their statue “Cad Bane – The Book of Boba Fett – Art Scale 1/10”, with the relentless mercenary and bounty hunter inspired by the iconic scene from the sixth episode of the series from the Disney+ streaming service “The Book of Boba Fett”, series derivative from “The Mandalorian” from the universe of Star Wars, where the character made its live-action premiere.

Native from the planet Duro, Cad Bane appeared for the first time in the Star Wars animated series from 2008: The Clone Wars, created by George LucasDave Filoni, and Henry Gilroy, he’s a relentless bounty hunter employed by Empire villains and criminal organizations. Expert in the use of weapons and devices designed for fighting Jedis, after the death of Jango Fett he was considered the best and most experienced of his time. Although considered infamous, Bane had high respect both in the underworld and among other bounty hunters, working with Aurra Sing and dueling some of the most skillful Jedi, including Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Mostly featured in Star Wars comics and video games, and appearing in the animated series from 2021 “Star Wars: The Bad Batch”, he got his live-action version in “Chapter 6: From the Desert Comes a Stranger” from “The Book of Boba Fett”, where he was hired by the crime empire Pyke Syndicate to help them control the smuggling and trade of spices in Tatooine. Inspired by the gunslinger played by the actor Lee Van Cleef in the movie “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly”, the character became one of the most popular and favorite bounty hunters for fans next to others like Boba Fett and Jango Fett.

The first Iron Studios statue derivative from “The Book of Boba Fett”, Cad Bane was presented on the show Inside Iron Studios Day on YouTube, and is already available for Pre-Order, on the same day of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series’ premiere on Disney+. Also, check out the statue “Darth Maul – Star Wars – Legacy Replica 1/4”, another great villain from Star Wars and rival of Obi-Wan, and other news by Iron Studios inspired by the legendary character from a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Darth Maul – Star Wars – Legacy Replica 1/4

Sent by his master Darth Sidious to the barren planet Tatooine with the mission of eliminating Queen Amidala and the two Jedi Knights, protectors of the ruler from planet Naboo, the mortal and agile Sith Lord with yellow eyes and red tattooed face under a crown of horns, wielding his double-bladed Lightsaber and wearing his dark cloak fluttering on the desert winds, gets ready to face one of his targets, after getting the location of his target’s whereabouts from his Probe Droid next to him. In the month of May, commemorating the Star Wars saga, Iron Studios proudly present their statue “Darth Maul – Star Wars – Legacy Replica 1/4”, with his most iconic look just like on his unforgettable premiere in the movies in “Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace”, one of the most beloved Star Wars villains for the first time in this scale by Iron Studios, fiercely and intriguingly represented as the greatest Zabrak warrior from Dathomir.

Native from the planet Dathomir, Maul was welcomed by the Dark Lord Darth Sidious as his Sith apprentice. A very acrobatic warrior, trained to be relentless against his enemies, he learned to use a double-bladed lightsaber and became thirsty for revenge against the Jedi Order. Released by his Master around Tatooine, he sent his Probe Droids to search for the Jedi and Queen Amidala’s ship, and after locating the ship on the Dune Sea, Maul ambushed and faced a Jedi Master for the first time in a duel against Qui-Gon Jinn, but wasn’t able to achieve his goal. Later, Maul waited for Amidala in Naboo, where he once again dueled Qui-Gon, this time winning against the Jedi Master, but then while facing the young apprentice Obi-Wan Kenobi, Maul was defeated having his body cut in half and falling to the planet’s core, apparently dead. Thanks to his great popularity among fans, Darth Maul survived focusing on his hate for Obi-Wan, and after being found and rescued by his brother Savage Opress, Maul resurfaced and recovered on his home planet. After getting involved in other conflicts, participating in big battles, and in the rise of the Galactic Empire, Maul started to command the Crimson Dawn, a criminal organization.

Praised by Star Wars fans all around the world, Darth Maul got a new chance, being brought back from certain death, and gained even more prominence in the saga’s canon of a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. His 1/4 statue in the Legacy Replica line joins the series of statues that have the release of other iconic characters like “Darth Vader Ep VKylo Ren EP VIIMaster Yoda”, and more recently “The Mandalorian and The Child” and “Grogu” derivative of the Star Wars spin-off series on Disney+ The Mandalorian. New Luke Skywalker with Grogu and R2-D2 Statues from Iron Studios

We’ve received press releases for quite a few new statues from Iron Studios. The company has announced statues from many lines, but we are concerned with Star Wars here. So check out all the details about the two new statues, below.

Bringing on his right arm a Force-sensitive child called Grogu, a native of the same species as his old master Yoda, and just like him, has a strong connection to the power of the Force, the Jedi Master, wearing a cloak and black costume, contemplates with tranquility and wisdom, after answering to the small being call, that now must follow the apprentice path with his new guardian and master. One of the most exciting scenes of the last episode of the 2nd Season of “The Mandalorian” series in the Disney+ streaming service, is masterfully presented in the statue “Luke Skywalker and Grogu – The Mandalorian – Art Scale 1/10” by Iron Studios.

Answering Grogu’s call for help, master Luke Skywalker traveled in his classic X-Wing spaceship to the villain Moff Gideon’s light space cruiser that had captured Grogu. Alongside his old droid friend R2-D2, a companion of many adventures and battles, Luke arrived and faced a squad of the fearsome Dark Trooper droids, and after destroying them, Luke and R2 met Grogu and his Mandalorian guardian Din Djarin (Mando) together with his allies. Skywalker then becomes the child’s new protector and leaves with Grogu to train him as his apprentice.

The main protagonist hero of the original Star Wars trilogy, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) joined the Rebel Alliance in the fight against the Empire and had a fundamental role in the evil Emperor Palpatine’s defeat, later he sought to create a new Jedi Order. Grogu is one of the protagonists of the series derived from the Star Wars franchise, The Mandalorian. A small and charismatic being that became protégé of a Bounty Hunter and is the target of many forces that aim to capture him. Grogu was affectionately nicknamed by the audience as Baby Yoda. Already available for Pre-Order, Luke and Grogu Art Scale 1/10 form a set alongside the statue “R2-D2 – The Mandalorian – Art Scale 1/10”, also available for Pre-Order, but also individually stands out in every collection.
