Hot Toys has just revealed Boba Fett and Cad Bane from the hit Disney+ series, Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett! Cad Bane comes in two versions, a standard and deluxe, while Fett comes in just a standard version. The deluxe version of Cad Bane comes with Todo 360, which is a neat addition, even though the droid did not appear in the series. Both of these figures will be released between the Third and Fourth Quarters of 2023.

Walking on the scorching sands of the barren desert from planet Tatooine, at the gates of the city of Freetown, just like an American Old West gunslinger, a sinister and slender figure with cruel red eyes under his characteristic wide-brimmed fedora, wearing a brown overcoat, positions his skillful and fast hands, ready to draw his twin blaster pistols LL-30 from his belt holster, challenging the local sheriff Cobb Vanth for a duel. In the month of May, commemorating the Star Wars saga, Iron Studios proudly present their statue “Cad Bane – The Book of Boba Fett – Art Scale 1/10”, with the relentless mercenary and bounty hunter inspired by the iconic scene from the sixth episode of the series from the Disney+ streaming service“The Book of Boba Fett”, series derivative from “The Mandalorian” from the universe of Star Wars, where the character made its live-action premiere.
Native from the planet Duro, Cad Bane appeared for the first time in the Star Wars animated series from 2008: The Clone Wars, created by George Lucas, Dave Filoni, and Henry Gilroy, he’s a relentless bounty hunter employed by Empire villains and criminal organizations. Expert in the use of weapons and devices designed for fighting Jedis, after the death of Jango Fett he was considered the best and most experienced of his time. Although considered infamous, Bane had high respect both in the underworld and among other bounty hunters, working with Aurra Sing and dueling some of the most skillful Jedi, including Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Yesterday’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett might have been some of the best Star Wars we have seen since Disney took over the franchise. In fact, I would go out on a limb and say that it is what many fans hoped would be the result of Disney taking it over. There were plenty of surprises to go around, so if you have not seen episode 6 From the Desert Comes a Stranger, then please STOP reading now!
The last we saw of Luke Skywalker was in The Mandalorian‘s season 2 finale. In that episode, Lucasfilm used a combination of “deep fake” technology, de-ageing techniques and Mark Hamill to transform actor Max Lloyd-Jones into everyone’s favorite farm boy turned hero.
Although the episode was a success, some fans brought up a few minor criticisms with the “not-as-great-as-it-could-be” look of Luke. Lucasfilm then brought in deep fake artist Shamook as a Senior Facial Capture Artist after his much improved version ended up going viral on social media.
Fast-forward to today’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett and the new improved technology looks much improved. Actor Graham Hamilton is listed as Luke Skywalker’s “Performance Artist.”. He is also credited as playing one of the X-Wing pilot’s in the previous week’s Return of the Mandalorian episode.
A Clone Wars era character also made his live-action debut in this episode in the form of Cad Bane. While the voice sounds a little different from The Clone Wars animated series, it has been confirmed that voice-actor Corey Burton was brought in to voice the character once again.
It really seems like things are finally looking up for Star Wars again! I know I can’t wait for the finale next week!
