Promo Artwork for Star Wars Episode IX Leaked?

Keep in mind that some people aren’t fans of spoilers, so remember that when sharing this article over social media…

Before you get all hyped, the following image could be a fake, but it is a well designed fake if it is… We are just a couple of weeks away from an official trailer and title reveal (supposedly) at Star Wars Celebration Chicago, but it seems that someone has let the cat out of the bag a tad bit early.

Website ComicBookMovie.com has their hands on an image that is currently making the rounds that gives us a great look at characters from Star Wars Episode IX, including C-3PO with Chewie’s bandolier and bowcaster? The image also gives us our first look at The Knights of Ren, new droids, new aliens, new characters, and a new TIE-Fighter model.

Now, before the typical cries of “Fake!” begin, it’s important to note that this isn’t a theatrical poster. Instead, it’s the sort of thing you’d find being sold in stores or adorning toy boxes. In other words, it’s promo art put together with live-action imagery, but still very spoilery when it comes to reveals!

Proceed with caution.

New TIE-Fighter Accidentally Revealed?

If you have been keeping up with all of the news coming from Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge (and there has been a lot of it over the past few days), then you might have noticed, or actually missed a tiny preview of what looks to be a brand new TIE-Fighter on display.

WARNING – This thing could potentially be in Star Wars Episode IX, so if you want to stay spoiler free then don’t go any further. However, it was in some marketing material for Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, so the choice is yours.

The photo (which you can see below) of the new ship was shared on Reddit. ABC News’ Clayton Sandell attended the Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge preview and confirmed that the ship was described as appearing in an upcoming movie, even if Star Wars Episode IX wasn’t explicitly confirmed at the event. Star Wars Episode IX is the only movie that we know of, that is officially in production, so it is a safe bet that this is from that movie.

“That’s where the TIE fighter is parked and it is an awesome TIE fighter. A brand new TIE fighter that nobody has ever seen before,” Sandell shared with Star Wars News Net. “And they hinted you’re going to see this TIE fighter in a new movie. I am guessing Episode IX. It’s a really cool design. It combines, if you could imagine Kylo’s shuttle kind of shrunken down into a TIE fighter look.”

According to Sandell, the ship is being called a TIE-Echelon. From the photo above, you can see that this ship takes a lot of its design from other ships in The First Order/Empire armada. There is a little Vader’s TIE, some Kylo Shuttle, with a pinch of Imperial Zeta Class Cargo Shuttle thrown in to boot.

As always thoughts and comments are welcome.

John Boyega Confirms Time Period Between Episode 8 and 9

John Boyega in Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Empire Magazine’s 2019 Preview issue (which hits stands December 27), has an interesting article with John Boyega about the upcoming Star Wars Episode IX film. In it the actor confirms that one year has passed since the end of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

Thanks to the Twitter account of Star Wars Stuff, we have a page from the upcoming issue that reveals that information.

This is some of the first real information revealed about the film, as it is currently shrouded in mystery. For those like us at ORN, it’s better that way, so that the surprises in the movie are left for the actual viewing.

John Boyega Shares Behind-the-Scenes Video of Episode IX on Instagram

Occasionally, Disney and Lucasfilm will allow just a bit of behind-the-scenes magic to slip through to the public, just to whet our appetite for something. In this case, the company apparently let John Boyega post a behind-the-scenes video from the set of Star Wars Episode IX.

There is no context provided for the scene in question. There is also no sound. We just see Finn on some sort of slow spinning contraption, with Finn looking amazed at what he is seeing.

Check out the teaser video below, and of course, speculate on what is happening in the comment section below!

Billie Lourd Thinks Episode IX is Going to be Magical!

Billie Lourd as Lt. Kaydel Connix

Billie Lourd, the daughter of the late Carrie Fisher, and Star Wars character Lt. Kaydel Connix in the last two sequel movies, tells ET Online that fans are in for a real treat with Episode IX. Lourd will reprise her role as Lt. Kaydel Connix in the upcoming “final installment of the Skywalker saga”.

Lourd, who was on set in September for a few weeks of shooting, describes the film as “magical”!

“I gotta watch myself because the Star Wars PD is going to come get me, but it is incredible,” Lourd, who plays Lieutenant Connix in the latest Star Wars trilogy, tells ET. “I’ve read the script and I’ve been on set. I was on set for, like, three weeks back in September, and it is going to be magical.”

“I can’t say much more, but I’m so excited about it and so grateful to be a part of it,” she adds. “Star Wars is my heart. I love it.”

Are you ready for this Star Wars Episode IX? We are just a tad over a year away, and the momentum and anticipation for the film is just getting started.
