Two Gentle Giant SDCC Exclusives Revealed

Are you getting excited about San Diego Comic-Con 2017? We at OuterRimNews are as well! Especially about all of the cool exclusives to be found at the convention. Two new exclusives were revealed today courtesy of Gentle Giant. The two Gentle Giant SDCC Exclusives revealed were the Star Wars 40th Anniversary Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker (X-Wing Pilot) classic mini-busts!

Darth Vader Star Wars 40th Anniversary Classic Mini Bust – SDCC 2017 Exclusive

Once a powerful Jedi Knight, Darth Vader was consumed by the Dark Side of the Force to become a dreaded Sith Lord of the Galactic Empire. Enforcing the evil will of the Emperor, Vader seeks to crush the Rebellion. Lord Vader is so determined to thwart the Rebel forces that he eventually takes to his own custom T.I.E. Fighter to join the fight and defeat the Rebel’s ragtag fleet. Depicted as he appears in Star Wars Episode VI: A New Hope, the Gentle Giant Ltd. 1:6th scale Darth Vader Classic Bust combines the timeless aesthetics of sculpture from Greek and Roman antiquity, with one of popular cultures most recognizable characters. Added to the base is Darth Vader’s iconic lightsaber hilt, the preferred weapon of the Sith. Each limited edition hand-painted polyresin bust comes individually numbered and is paired with a matching special edition certificate of authenticity done by artist Brian Rood.

Luke Skywalker (X-Wing Pilot) Star Wars 40th Anniversary Classic Mini Bust – SDCC 2017 Exclusive

From farm boy to Red 5. 40 years ago Star Wars: A New Hope took us all on a journey alongside Luke Skywalker and his friends as they made a daring rescue to save a princess and the galaxy. Young Luke Skywalker joins the rebellion as a pilot on their mission to destroy the ominous and deadly Death Star. Medicom Toy Reveals 40th Anniversary R2-D2 Be@rbrick

Medicom Toy has just revealed a Star Wars 40th Anniversary R2-D2 Be@rbrick figure. The new figure will be available this month at a cost of about ¥1,500 or about $13.75. R2-D2 will stand about 3″ tall.

As you can probably tell, the thing that makes this figure unique is the 40th anniversary logo on the back of the figure. As of the posting of this article, I haven’t found anywhere to pre-order this figure. You may have to hit places like eBay to snag this one.

New Star Wars 40th Anniversary Coffee Mugs from SD Toys

Those born in 1977 not only have one, but two things to celebre this year. You know it’s also the 40th Anniversary of the most important galactic saga of all times? YEAH! This year Star Wars celebrates its 40th anniversary and SDToys want to join the event with an amazing deluxe set of 3 Mugs with the 40th anniversary logo and the Rebel and Empire symbols as well.

This set is truly special for many reasons. For starters, every symbol in the mugs is laser cut and engraved; the color of the mugs is a deep Matte black and it comes in a dedicated box with a glossy-satin print and magnetic lock to easy open/close. Limited to 3000 units, includes a hand written certificate. If you’re one of those true fans with a ‘strong force connection’, this item has to be yours!

The only bad thing about this set; it’s a European exclusive. I am sure some of you hardcore collectors can figure out a way to import it though 🙂
