Gentle Giant has yet to reveal to us any Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandise until today, but the wait has been worth it! The company has just place their upcoming First Order Stormtrooper bust up for pre-order on their site. It surely is a magnificent piece of artwork, but this one is going to set you back some serious cash. It is up for pre-order at $120.00 with a release date of quarter 3 2016. This seems a bit step for a 1/6 scale mini-bust, but the level of detail on the mini-bust is simply fantastic!

Gentle Giant is the latest company to reveal a cool new San Diego Comic-Con 2015 exclusive Star Wars item. Their newest SDCC exclusive will be a Star Wars Prototype Boba Fett Mini Bust. If you are not able to make it to San Diego Comic-Con this year, don’t fret. This mini bust will also be made available to Premier Guild Members who cannot attend the convention. Gentle Giant did not release pricing or edition size for this new 1/6 scale bust, so stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
In the summer of 1980, The Empire Strikes Back introduced us to one of modern cinemas most recognizable characters, Boba Fett. A man of few words, the gritty bounty hunter quickly made his mark despite having roughly 3 minutes of screen time in his debut film. The character had long been teased by Lucasfilm as far back as 1978, appearing in animated form and as a costumed character in parades and special events across the country.
It was a filmed screen test in early 1978 where we saw an early prototype of Fett that featured sleek all white armor over an off-white jump suit. This costume was rumored to be a “Super Stormtrooper” design that saw the character designed to be a kind of elite, special forces Imperial Trooper, better trained and equipped than regular foot soldiers. In the end, this concept was abandoned and Fett became the rogue bounty hunter we all know today.
