Dengar is an effective bounty hunter. While some hunters prided themselves on finesse and style, Dengar preferred firepower and destruction to capture his targets. Boba Fett enjoyed working with Dengar and held him in high regard due to his proven record of accomplishment in hunting down prey.

Zuckuss is the Gand bounty hunter that teamed up with 4-LOM to hunt Han Solo and collect the bounty for the Empire and as well as Jabba the Hutt. Zuckuss is sometimes known as “The Uncanny One” in the underground world of bounty hunters because of his tracking skills. He has an innate Force-sensitivity and has developed his skills after years of being a findsman. One way or another he always gets his mark.

For those old enough to remember Kenner’s classic Early Bird 4-pack set, this new Early Bird 4-Pack Jumbo Set from Gentle Giant might be an awesome thing to own!  Gentle Giant just released official images of their upcoming set, which features jumbo versions of the classic Kenner figures Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, R2-D2, and Chewbacca.

The figures come in a replica (only jumbo sized) of the Kenner set.  This one will set you back about $279.00 for a Q4 2017 release date.  Check out the official images and solicitation information below!

40 years ago a generation of kids saw a movie that changed their lives. When they left the theater and went to the store to find action figures from their favorite new movie they did not exist. When the holidays rolled around and the kids wanted to find their favorite heroes, villains and droids under the tree, none could be found. The toy makers solution to this problem was “The Star Wars Early Bird Kit.” Parents, desperate for anything Star Wars to wrap for their kids, were sold a large cardboard envelope that had a fold out stand, some stickers, trading cards and a promise that WHEN the figures were made, they would be the first kids to receive them. Gentle Giant has released official images for their upcoming Bossk Collectors Gallery Statue!  This is expected to ship in Q4 of this year and will set you back about $159.00 USD.  This is a 1/8 scale piece with dimensions of 9.5 inches x Width: 6.5 inches x Depth: 5.5 inches.

The bounty hunter known as Bossk has been a fan favorite ever since his debut in 1980. His popularity could not be contained to his brief appearance on the deck of the Executor in the Empire Strikes Back (and in the background of Jabba’s sail barge in Return of the Jedi). Bossk soon started filling out his robust backstory in both the Star Wars: Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels animated series, taking on the role of mentor to the young, orphaned Boba Fett. About Bossk:

One of the most feared bounty hunters of the galaxy, Bossk used his natural Trandoshan hunting instincts to capture his prey. During the Clone Wars, the red-eyed reptilian partnered with Aurra Sing, Castas and young Boba Fett. Bossk didn’t care much for vendettas or politics. He was in it to get paid. After a brief stint in a Republic prison, Bossk continued his partnership with Fett, becoming a bodyguard to the teen bounty hunter. Decades later, Bossk answered Darth Vader’s call to capture the Millennium Falcon after the Battle of Hoth, an assignment that put him in direct competition with Boba.

One of our favorite films of all time around here is The Empire Strikes Back.  That is why when we get the opportunity, we promote anything from that film.  With that said, Gentle Giant showcased their upcoming Collector’s Gallery Zuckuss statue at San Diego Comic-Con 2017.  The statue is a 1/18th scale piece that looks to be very, very nice!

Two new exclusives were revealed today courtesy of Gentle Giant. The two Gentle Giant SDCC Exclusives revealed were the Star Wars 40th Anniversary Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker (X-Wing Pilot) classic mini-busts!

Darth Vader Star Wars 40th Anniversary Classic Mini Bust – SDCC 2017 Exclusive

Once a powerful Jedi Knight, Darth Vader was consumed by the Dark Side of the Force to become a dreaded Sith Lord of the Galactic Empire. Gentle Giant June Solicitations Features AT-ACT Bookend Set

Gentle Giant has released their solicitations for June 2017, and among them are one of the coolest Star Wars collectibles you will ever see.  The company has unveiled an AT-ACT Bookend Set.  The set will be out in the fourth quarter of this year, and will cost you a cool $239.99.

The AT-ACT is larger version of the standard combat AT-AT walkers. As seen in Star Wars Rebels and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the AT-ACT features a deployable cargo bed for the transportation of heavy building materials or combat munitions. AT-ACTs were commonly stationed at major Imperial construction projects, such as shipyards and research installations such as the Imperial data storage station on Scariff. Digitally sculpted by the master artisans at Gentle Giant Ltd., the AT-ACT Mini Bookends features the mechanical monstrosities as they were seen traversing the jungle terrain on the planet Scariff in pursuit of the Rebel insurgence in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Crafted using only the highest quality Polystone, each limited-edition hand-painted bookend set comes individually numbered and is packed with a matching certificate of authenticity. It makes a great companion piece to our previously released AT-AT bookends set.

Gentle Giant Announces New Star Wars Product Offerings!

Continuing our coverage of Star Wars Day news, comes information from Gentle Giant concerning new Star Wars product offerings!  The company has revealed three new items, some of which we showed you during our Star Wars Celebration coverage.  The three new item announcements include a new Shoretrooper statue, a Princess Leia Organa Mini-Bust, and an IG-88 statue.

Shoretrooper Collector’s Gallery Statue

From Rogue One: A Star Wars Story; come the Empire’s Shoretoopers. Armored soldiers who patrol the beaches of the planet Scarif, the secret location of the imperial army and its Death Star construction facility. These well-trained, specialist Troopers are at the ready to defend against the always imminent Rebel incursions. This Shoretrooper captain is armed with a heavy blaster and is depicted standing on the shores of Scarif, posed to take on the rebel insurgents. Sculpted digitally to ensure precision form and character correct accuracy. Each detailed bust is cast in durable, stone-like, poly-urethane material that is cold to the touch. Featuring a heavy blaster-rifle, sculpted hip pouches and gear. Every trooper is hand painted with correct rank and insignia applications with battle worn, weathered details. IG-88 Collector’s Gallery Statue

The fearsome assassin droid IG-88 was a rival to Boba Fett and was an imposing presence when he arrived on the Executor, answering Darth Vader’s call for ruthless bounty hunters. Far more terrifying than battle droids were the assassin droids, who were independently programmed mechanical killers that roamed the galaxy and had no masters. IG-88’s battered, chrome, war droid exterior suggests a richer, more violent history than we were able to glimpse in The Empire Strikes Back. The artists a Gentle Giant take you on a journey to see IG-88 in his prime and on the hunt with his cold, mechanical stare fixed on his prey. With his guns drawn, IG-88 won’t be stopped until his has his target dead or alive! IG-88 is the second statue in our new 1:8th Collector’s Gallery line, celebrating 40 years of the Star Wars universe. Each limited edition, hand-painted piece is cast in high quality polyresin with crisp details. This statue also comes individually numbered with a matching certificate of authenticity.

 

Leia Hero of Yavin Mini-Bust

In the triumphant scene at the end of Star Wars: A New Hope, we see Princess Leia decorating Luke Skywalker and Han Solo with the Medal of Yavin, for their gallant effort that resulted in the destruction of the Imperial Death Star! Our previous releases include both Han Solo and Luke Skywalker. Now we complete the trilogy with the royal presenter herself, Princess Leia Organa of Alderan. This amazing mini bust illustrates the pride that Leia shows at the end of the film as she knows the Death Star has been destroyed and no other planets will face the same fate as her home world. She stands proudly on the stage with her fellow heroes of the Rebellion. This mini bust was digitally sculpted by our master artisans, using actual archival footage and designs. Each bust is rendered using the highest quality polystone, and is hand painted to exacting detail. All of the pieces in this series are individually numbered and paired with a matching certificate of authenticity.

Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 has wrapped up, and we are back to post all the news we missed while at the convention.  So sit back and relax, and read through the “need-to-know” information that is most important to you.

There were a ton of cool new items on display at the Gentle Giant Booth this year.  Two new San Diego Comic-Con busts based on art by Brian Rood were there, which includes Darth Vader and X-Wing Pilot Luke Skywalker.  We also got a look at the Premiere Guild pieces of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lobot, and Jumbo Emporer.

New and old busts were on display to show the masterwork of the fine folks at Gentle Giant. It also looks like we will be getting statues based on Bossk and IG-88 in the future.  The Rogue One product was also on display in full force.  The best thing might be the photo opportunity with a life-size Jabba the Hutt (not for sale).
