Star Wars Launch Bay Returns to Disney World!

Some welcome news is coming from Orlando and inside the gates at Hollywood Studios! It seems as if Disney World is set to reopen the Star Wars Launch Bay for some classic meet-and-greets with your favorite Star Wars characters.

According to the Disney Parks Blog, July 17 will see the doors open at the Star Wars Launch Bay with an opportunity to meet BB-8, Chewbacca and Darth Vader.

Over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Star Wars Launch Bay returns July 17! A celebration of the legendary space saga, Star Wars Launch Bay is your place for a warm embrace with Chewbacca, a face-to-droid encounter with BB-8 or a run-in with Darth Vader himself for those brave enough.
Details on additional return dates will be shared as they become available.

Cal Kestis Legacy Saber Coming to Disney Parks!

A brand new legacy lightsaber is about to hit Disney World and Disney Land at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities. If you aren’t familiar with legacy lightsabers, they are really just authentic replicas of the movie lightsabers, that allow you to add the FX blade to it.

You’ll be able to add Cal Kestis’ Legacy Lightsaber Hilt inspired by STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order to your collection when it arrives at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge this Friday!

Cameron Monaghan, the actor who plays Cal Kestis in the critically acclaimed Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order video game, recently journeyed to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland Resort and got the full Star Wars experience while checking out the Cal Kestis legacy lightsaber hilt. You can add this legacy lightsaber hilt to your personal collection when it arrives at Dok-Ondar’s on March 25, 2022, only at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort!

Those familiar with Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order will recognize the broken end design since Cal Kestis acquires the lightsaber after the weapon is damaged and is only capable of emitting a single blade. When you purchase this distinct lightsaber hilt, it comes with a dual lightsaber adapter, so you can recreate the original double-bladed design reminiscent of when the lightsaber was owned by Cal’s Master, Jaro Tapal, when you purchase a second hilt.

New Concept Art Revealed for Star Wars Hotel

Piggy-backing off the Destination D reveals from yesterday, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek shared new images of the upcoming Star Wars Hotel and the Disney World Resort.

The guest experience will start as you drive up to the hotel and then you will be transported away by a launch pod into a one-of-a-kind experience that was described as being similar to a multi-day cruise experience.

As of now, there has been no official opening date for the hotel, so keep your Internet browsers steered here for the latest news about everything Star Wars, happening at the Disney resorts. Until then, check out another piece of concept art that was shown yesterday.

New Star Wars Items Coming Soon to Disney Parks

If you are going to one of the Disney parks soon, be on the lookout for new Star Wars merchandise hitting shelves there. Items released this fall include: a bluetooth Imperial Comlink, a new collection of plush Ewoks, a new Starspeeder 1000 featuring Jakku, BB-8 and R2-D2 blankets, R2-B00 and R2-H16 action figures, a remote controlled Mouse Droid (awesome!), and finally a selection of new Star Wars handbags.
