More information is coming out concerning activities and things to do on your journey at Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge. The current news making the rounds concerns the Disney app and how it transforms your experience at the park. BlogMickey has dropped some great information about the app and how it works.
Soon after you arrive to Batuu, the Play Disney Parks app will transform into your galactic datapad—designed to guide you deeper and deeper into an adventure in a galaxy far, far away. First, here are the commands that you’ll be able to explore within the app.
Translate galactic languages—both written and spoken.
Discover precious cargo and digital goods as you scan objects all around the spaceport—including items hidden inside space-shipping crates and containers.
Tune into communications sent by the planet’s many residents to uncover stories and secrets throughout the land—and unscramble transmissions being sent from far, far away.
Use the Play Disney Parks app to hack into the land’s many devices, control panels and droids.
As the app guides you along, you’ll have the chance to pledge your loyalty to the First Order, support the Resistance, or strike out on your own as a scoundrel. And with each job you complete, you’ll receive digital rewards like ship schematics, star maps, galactic credits and more!
As you can see from the information provided, your trip to Batuu will be even more immersive with the addition of the Disney Parks app. Disney is trying very hard to make this THE travel destination for Star Wars fans for a long time to come.

Hasbro posted and then about an hour later took down, a previously unannounced Disney Parks Exclusive 4-pack of First Order figures. The new set includes a Mountain Trooper, Kylo Ren, MSE Droid and Commander Pyre. The figures are 6″ scale Star Wars The Black Series pieces. No word on when it will go up officially for sale.

Disney Parks is wanting to get you even more hyped about the opening of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at DisneyLand and DisneyWorld, with the release of the latest image. Via their social media sites, Disney Parks released a behind-the-scenes completed look at the Millennium Falcon for their Smuggler’s Run ride.
We aren’t sure which park this one is at, but you can tell that some of the building are still under construction, via the scaffolding on the outside of some of them.

About the Han Solo Film:

A few weeks ago the Disney Park’s blog was updated with an article showcasing a milestone in the construction of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The milestone was a construction beam signing by Imagineers and cast members at the park. This is an important milestone in the construction phase of any Disney attraction.
To celebrate this milestone, a video was created showcasing the signers. The signed beam will eventually be part of the construction and a remembrance for those that participated in it.

The people from Lucasfilm and Walt Disney Imagineering discussed their unique partnership and shared details about the new Star Wars Land portion of Hollywood Studios at both Disney resorts, during the Star Wars Celebration Orlando 2017 panel, Star Wars and Disney Parks: A Galaxy in the Making.

The team shared exciting new details about the story behind this mysterious destination somewhere on the Outer Rim — lying on the edge of the Unknown Regions. The remote village was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes, but the prominence of the outpost has been bypassed with the rise of hyperspace travel. Now home to those who prefer less attention, it has become a thriving port for smugglers, rogue traders and adventurers traveling between the frontier and uncharted space. It’s also a convenient safe-haven for others intent on avoiding the expanding reach of the First Order.
Unusual characters from across the galaxy have landed here, preferring the “no questions asked” environment as well as easy access to exotic supplies and an abundant supply of ready rogues looking to join a crew for their next adventure.

Star Wars Launch Bay will take guests into the Star Wars saga and the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, with special exhibits and peeks behind-the-scenes, special merchandise and opportunities to encounter Chewbacca and Darth Vader.
Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will be home to a brand new adventure inspired by the upcoming film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens. During the opening months, we’ll make sure that everyone who rides Star Tours will experience the new adventure. After that, it will be up to the will of the Force. Star Wars: Path of the Jedi will feature scenes from the complete Star Wars saga, also giving anyone new to the Star Wars galaxy an opportunity to get acquainted with the films.
Last, but certainly not least, is Jedi Training: Trials of the Temple, which will open in early December. This reimagined Jedi Training experience will take younglings to the secret site of an ancient Jedi temple where they will face Darth Vader along with the Seventh Sister – a new villain from the Disney XD series “Star Wars Rebels.”
And work begins next year on the 14-acre Star Wars-themed land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. With construction underway, unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer Star Wars Weekends. While Star Wars Weekends has been a great way to enjoy the saga for a few days every year, now the Force will be with Disney’s Hollywood Studios every day.
With Star Wars Launch Bay, the new Jedi Training experience, “Star Wars: Path of the Jedi” and a new destination in the Star Tours attraction opening in December, you’ll be able to step into the Star Wars saga every time you visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
