Han Solo’s Dice Coming from EFX!

HAN SOLO'S DICE

EFX brings you the only officially licensed prop replica of the Han SoloTM dice from the Star Wars saga! EFX was given access to the screen-used prop, and generated the master pattern from a digital scan and extensive research of the screen-used prop making it the most accurate replica of Han Solo’s iconic dice down to the hanging chain. The EFX engineers, model-makers and artists have painstakingly produced a faithful prop replica of this iconic pair of dice.

The dice first appeared in Star Wars: A New Hope aboard the Millennium Falcon, hanging from where a rearview mirror might be in a real world vehicle. However, the dice were not seen in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back or Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. The next on-set appearance was documented in production stills from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but, the scene where the dice were visible was edited out of the final cut. The next time they were featured was in Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

From its incidental beginnings in Star Wars: A New Hope, as a simple set-dressing embellishment in the Falcon set to a relevant piece of the narrative in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Han Solo’s lucky dice symbolize the continuity and connectivity of the Star Wars galaxy and its characters. That association is highlighted when Luke Skywalker™ boards the Falcon and takes the dice as a reminder of his fallen friend, Han Solo. And at the end of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Luke appears to give them to his sister Leia™ as a memento. Ultimately, the errant Ben Solo™, now Kylo Ren™, picks up the phantom dice, suggesting that his connection to the past has now disappeared.

Star Wars Battlefront II will Feature 3 Times More Content than the Original

EA CEO Andrew Wilson detailed the future of the company at a post-earnings call this morning.  Among the highlights included some new details concerning Star Wars Battlefront II.  It seems that fans will be getting much more content with the release, as compared to the release of last year’s Star Wars Battlefront game.

Wilson stated that the team has taken the feedback about the original game seriously and hopes to remedy the concerns over a lack of content with the addition of a single-player campaign and more multiplayer content.

EA CFO Blake Jorgensen added that the publisher hopes to ship more copies than the original did in its first year.

Star Wars Battlefront II arrives later this year on November 17 for the PS4 and Xbox One and is available for pre-order right now.

About Star Wars Battlefront:

Dark-armored troopers stand beneath the smoldering remains of the shield generator on the Forest Moon of Endor. Their faces turn skyward to the distant menace of the Death Star looming overhead, a symbol of order in a war-torn galaxy. Like the Empire itself, the colossal battle station stands immutable, impregnable, and eternal. And with a flash of white, it explodes into a midday star.

Welcome to Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II, with a new story mode taking players on an epic journey from the battle of Endor to the rise of the First Order. The prequels, original trilogy, and new era meet in a vast multiplayer adventure coming November 17 to PlayStation 4®, Xbox One, and Origin on PC. If you’re a member of Origin Access or EA Access, you’ll be able to start playing on November 9.

GAMESCON: Star Wars Battlefront Death Star Details

Battlefront Death Star Details

Stay on target! Major Star Wars Battlefront Death Star Details were unveiled recently at Gamescon in Cologne, Germany. EA just announced that new weapons and Star Cards will be added, along with a hotly anticipated new game mode, Battle Station, which will be part of the DLC release.

In similar suit to the game modes like Extraction from the Outer Rim expansion, and Sabotage from Bespin, this new mode will have three stages. In the first phase, rebel starfighters will face off in space against Imperial TIE Fighters, with an objective that mirrors the current space game mode, Fighter Squadron. However, have patience young Padawan, because this is only stage one. If enough TIE Fighters are destroyed, Y-Wing support will arrive and rebel forces can focus their attacks on bringing down the main Star Destroyer. Phase Two brings the battle straight to the main corridors of the Death Star. Rebel forces will need to secure a priority droid directly inside the legendary space station, while fending off Imperial troops and villainous bounty hunters. The final phase takes place back in space, where players can try to blow up the Death Star. Details have been scarce, but it’s just been announced that the Red-5 X-wing of Luke Skywalker will be featured, along with the TIE Advanced Darth Vader.

Fans will rejoice with the addition of everyone’s favorite Wookiee, who will be added to the squad of playable Heroes. Chewbacca will have a super enhanced Bowcaster, which we can only hope is akin to Han Solo’s unique Rapid Fire ability. Meanwhile, the menacing Trandoshan bounty hunter, Bossk will be added to the side of Villains. He’ll be equipped with a blaster with infrared sight, along with grenades and health regeneration upon a single kill.
