A massive 2026 roadmap leak has revealed that a dedicated Fortnite Star Wars Battlefront mode is officially on the horizon. This news comes alongside exciting details regarding a new Din Djarin skin and exclusive footage from the upcoming film, The Mandalorian and Grogu.

First on the Agenda

Starting today, players can obtain the Fishstick frozen in carbonite backbling by linking their Epic Games account to their Disney+ account. The item is free for players that link the accounts.

The Return of Galactic Warfare in Fortnite

For years, fans of the classic Battlefront series have been clamoring for a modern take on the large-scale trooper combat that defined the franchise. With no AAA Battlefront III currently in development at major studios, Epic Games is stepping in to fill that void.

The leaked roadmap reveals that the new Fortnite Star Wars Battlefront mode will utilize the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) to recreate the iconic “Conquest” style gameplay. This update reportedly includes dedicated templates for legendary locations like Hoth, Tatooine, and Nevarro. Players can expect to engage in large-scale team combat featuring over 25 iconic weapons, including the Amban Sniper Rifle and Westar-34 blasters.

New Mandalorian and Grogu Skins

Adding to the hype, the leak confirms that a brand-new Din Djarin skin is coming to the Item Shop. Unlike the previous Chapter 2 Season 5 Battle Pass version, which remains vaulted, this new version is expected to feature an unmasked style with the likeness of Pedro Pascal. This is a huge win for fans who missed out on the original release.

Even more exciting is the introduction of a “Grogu Sidekick.” Using Fortnite’s newer cosmetic system, this Grogu won’t just be a back bling; he will be a companion that follows players across the battlefield. These cosmetics are expected to drop in May 2026 to coincide with the theatrical release of The Mandalorian and Grogu.

Exclusive Movie Footage Details

The crossover event is also serving as a major marketing vehicle for the new film. Reports indicate that exclusive footage of The Mandalorian and Grogu will be showcased within the game. Early descriptions of this footage suggest a high-octane sequence involving an AT-ST skidding down a snowy mountain and Din Djarin taking on Imperial remnants in a sequence reminiscent of a “Daredevil” style hallway fight.

Fans also got a glimpse of Sigourney Weaver’s character, Ward, a New Republic official who reportedly tasks Din with a mission to Nal Hutta to rescue Rotta the Hutt, a name fans haven’t heard since The Clone Wars movie.

The Fortnite/Star Wars Team-Up

By bringing a Fortnite Star Wars Battlefront mode to the ecosystem, Epic is giving the community the tools to build their own Star Wars experiences. With access to over 100 NPCs, including Stormtroopers and Rebel soldiers, and vehicles like X-wings and TIE fighters, the potential for fan-made content is limitless.

Stay tuned to Outer Rim News as we continue to track these leaks. With the update expected to go live around May 4th, the Force is truly strong with Fortnite this year.
