Disney has removed two Star Wars titles from the Apple and Google stores after less than a year. Both Tiny Death Star and Star Wars Assault Team are no longer available.
Tiny Death Star has been around for almost a year, while Star Wars Assault Team debuted at the end of March 2014. Apparently the demand for the games weren’t up to Disney/Lucasfilm’s desire, so the company pulled the apps from the online stores.
The sting is really being felt by Nimblebit (the developer of Tiny Death Star) which made a significant amount from the game. It is being reported that the company had no idea that the game was going to be pulled and were just as surprised as everyone else when it was pulled.
If you have the games on your phone, they won’t stop working, but they will no longer be updated and no new users will be allowed to play.
