Star Wars fans are a peculiar lot (not judging because I am one of them), because of their insatiable need for information. When the marketing department over at Lucasfilm releases some information, it is not enough to just consume that information. No! We have to dig deep and analyze every little bit of info that was released. Sometimes to the point of over-analyzing something.

Take for instance the latest bit of information concerning the release of the first trailer for Star Wars Resistance. Twitterer Darth_Hardy has gone above and beyond and delivered information concerning when the upcoming television show takes place in the Star Wars timeline.

Hardy took a dive into the page source for the Star Wars Resistance page on StarWars.com, and found some interesting information for the meta property. Apparently someone went ahead and posted a bit more information than intended so that they could get a leg up in the SEO race. The meta property tag reveals when the new show takes place. “Set about six months before The Force Awakens, Star Wars Resistance tells the story of Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order.”

Now I am just finding this tweet, so could this be a hoax (the meta property reads differently now), or is this just a case of Lucasfilm overaggressively getting a head start on SEO for the show’s page?

Since this find, the meta property tag has been changed to read “Star Wars Resistance tells the story of Kazuda Xiono, a young pilot recruited by the Resistance and tasked with a top-secret mission to spy on the growing threat of the First Order.”

Star Wars fans are truly amazing!

Take to the skies with Star Wars Resistance. Premieres Sunday, October 7 at 10pm ET/PT on Disney Channel.
