In a recent interview with the Costco Connection, Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy dropped an interesting tidbit of information concerning the differences between the “saga” films, and the “anthology” films.
The Saga films focus on the Skywalker family saga. The stories follow a linear narrative that connects to the previous six films…The Force Awakens follows Return Of The Jedi and continues that generational story.
Since the announcement of another Star Wars film, fans have been speculating as to the direction of the film, and whether or not it would focus on the Skywalker family. According to Kennedy, it will indeed. Perhaps we probably knew this information already, but it is nice to get a bit of a confirmation about it.
Now this definitely means that one of the new characters is most likely a Skywalker, but the question becomes which character and from which sibling? Luke or Leia? The good thing is, we only have two and half more months to wait before we officially find out. I am sure that if you wanted to know bad enough, that there are leaks out there to be found, but if you are like me, then you will want to wait and be surprised.
Just for fun though, which character in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, do you think will be revealed as part of the Skywalker lineage? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below. It will be interesting to learn what other fans speculate on.
