Typically OuterRimNews.com is not in the rumor game, we like to post cold hard facts concerning Star Wars, but this rumor just won’t seem to die. In fact it is gaining more traction each day.
According to the fine folks over at MakingStarWars.net, Carl Weathers has not only joined the cast of The Mandalorian, but has actually already filmed scenes for the upcoming show.
I have since been able to confirm he has filmed moments for the show. As far as casting goes, at this point, outside of getting a photo of him in costume, that’s as far as I can confirm Carl Weathers is in the series.
Until we get an official press release about his addition to the cast, treat this as a rumor (very solid rumor). If this holds out to be true, then we now have three cast members on the show. Weathers joins the previously-reported Pedro Pascal and former MMA star Gina Carano.
About The Mandalorian:
The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic. The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced, with Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode. Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok). It will be executive produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Karen Gilchrist will serve as co-executive producer.
