If you thought $500 million was a lot of money, then what do you think about $700 million? That is the total that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has just surpassed. This new number now sets the film in tenth place worldwide for 2016 and third domestically.
Rogue One is about $15 million behind Captain America: Civil War, which it should pass early this week.
While it hasn’t performed up to last year’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens numbers, it has proven to Disney that spin-off films and stories in the Star Wars universe are viable for their own films. There is no telling where this film will end up just yet, as far as numbers go, but rest assured that this Star Wars fan will be seeing it at least one more time.
