The latest sales report from The Numbers reveals that Solo: A Star Wars Story is #1 in sales for Blu-rays. The movie had a rough go of it at the box office snagging only $385 million worldwide. While that is great for any other movie, it was not great a Star Wars film.
For the year, it currently sits in the 13th position with Star Wars: The Last Jedi still holding firm to the top spot with $68 million in Blu-Ray sales. In just three weeks on store shelves, the Solo: A Star Wars Story Blu-Ray has sold $18 million worth of Blu-Ray for the week ending September 30.
Hopefully this news bodes well for a sequel to be made from this film. Again, the film did earn $385 million at the worldwide box office, but that probably isn’t enough for Disney satisfaction, to garner another film in the franchise. Being the top selling Blu-ray may not be enough either, but it certainly can’t hurt.
