In a move that everyone saw coming, the voice of General Leia in Star Wars Resistance (Rachel Batura), has been replaced by actor Carolyn Hennesy. Back in September Batura took to Twitter to make fun of Dr. Christine Blasey-Ford for her voice during the Kavanaugh hearings.
Just as quickly as she posted the video on Twitter, she took it down. However, it was up long enough for the Internet to do as it usually does, make copies and spread like wildfire. As is the case with other incidences like this, Disney (most likely, because no official reason has been given) cut Batura from the show.
The news came in the form of the end credits for the show’s winter finale (last Sunday). You really have to listen carefully to know that there is a different person doing the voice in the episode.
Batura also was the voice behind Leia in the LEGO Star Wars: All-Stars show, but no information has been released on that issue either.
It does seem as though Hennesy is thrilled to be playing the character, and shared her appreciation of fan acceptance on Twitter…
