With Captain America behind him, Chris Evans has turned to smaller films and different types of roles than that of the “First Avenger.” He has since been a semi-villain type in Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson’s Knives Out, a small part in Ryan Reynold’s Free Guy and now a new hero in the form of Buzz Lightyear.
Evans recently sat down with Josh Horowitz of MTV News to talk about his film Lightyear, and during the discussion, express his interest to be part of the Star Wars universe.
“God, would I love to be in Star Wars! I mean I would do anything. Even if I was just a stormtrooper, I’d be thrilled.” Horowitz then proceeded to tell Chris he could be the world’s tallest Ewok, or anything he put his mind to. Evans responded with “Yeah, I’ll take a Wookie though, that’s fine,” he continued. “Just put me in. I’ll do it. I’ll take it.”
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is reportedly developing a Star Wars movie for Lucasfilm, while fellow Marvelite Thor: Love and Thunder director Taika Waititi is also in the process of gearing up production on a separate big screen Star Wars project. Could this be the perfect opportunity to bring Chris Evans into the Star Wars universe? I guess only time will tell.
