Fantastic Piano Mashup of The Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian

Din Djarin and Boba Fett

YouTuber AtinPiano has created a mashup of two of the best shows on Disney Plus at the moment. This is hard to say because all we new up to Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm was Star Wars music composed by the great John Williams. How would new Star Wars sound if not done with a beautiful John Williams score?

Now, let’s not forget Michael Giacchino’s contribution to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which sounded pretty close to a John Williams score, or John Powell’s team-up with John Williams for Solo: A Star Wars Story. However, we knew that neither would be coming back for streaming shows though.

Enter Ludwig Göransson. The Swedish composer showed us exactly how well it could be done. The Mandalorian theme is now iconic, thanks in part to the popularity of Grogu. The soundtrack for The Book of Boba Fett is also quickly becoming very popular. So much so that AtinPiano created this awesome mashup of the two shows on the piano, that will play well during your work hours, each and every day. Check out the music in the video below.

Here’s my cover of the Main Theme from The Book of Boba Fett mashed up with The Mandalorian Theme. They’re tough to combine outside of the opening riffs since they’re written in different time signatures, so I opted for a back and forth instead.

The Book of Boba Fett Star Talks their Character’s Fate

The Book of Boba Fett

This past week’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett was easily the best of the season, and perhaps some of the best Star Wars since Disney purchased Lucasfilm. This episode had it all from a great time spent with Luke Skywalker and the amazing CGI to give him his youthful appearance, to the progression of the Fett vs. The Pyke’s story, and the live-action introduction of a prominent The Clone Wars series character.

Unfortunately, we also had to seemingly say goodbye to a character that his been in the series since the first episode. Garsa Fwip, the Twi’lek owner of the Sanctuary cantina, was caught in the blast from a bomb planted there by the Pykes. This blast more than likely killed everyone in the cantina including Jennifer Beals’ Garsa Fwip.

Since this is Star Wars, it is possible the Twi’lek did make it out unscathed before the blast. However in a recent article from THR, Beals reveals that she always knew her time on the show would be short.

Garsa Fwip
Garsa Fwip

They gave me all of my episodes at the same time, so I could read where I started and where I ended. And I was OK. Of course, I would have loved to go on and on, but there is the moment of acceptance in that this is the story. I feel very fortunate to have stepped, for even a brief amount of time, into the Star Wars universe.” When asked if there was a chance her character escaped the bomb that went off in her place of business, all she would say was: “You’d have to talk to Dave and Jon about that (laughs). We know she’s a survivor, so who knows.

Could we see more from Garsa Fwip in future installments? It’s probably not likely, but never say never.

Who Played [SPOILER] in Yesterday’s Episode of Boba Fett?

Yesterday’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett might have been some of the best Star Wars we have seen since Disney took over the franchise. In fact, I would go out on a limb and say that it is what many fans hoped would be the result of Disney taking it over. There were plenty of surprises to go around, so if you have not seen episode 6 From the Desert Comes a Stranger, then please STOP reading now!

The last we saw of Luke Skywalker was in The Mandalorian‘s season 2 finale. In that episode, Lucasfilm used a combination of “deep fake” technology, de-ageing techniques and Mark Hamill to transform actor Max Lloyd-Jones into everyone’s favorite farm boy turned hero.

Although the episode was a success, some fans brought up a few minor criticisms with the “not-as-great-as-it-could-be” look of Luke. Lucasfilm then brought in deep fake artist Shamook as a Senior Facial Capture Artist after his much improved version ended up going viral on social media.

Fast-forward to today’s episode of The Book of Boba Fett and the new improved technology looks much improved. Actor Graham Hamilton is listed as Luke Skywalker’s “Performance Artist.”. He is also credited as playing one of the X-Wing pilot’s in the previous week’s Return of the Mandalorian episode.

A Clone Wars era character also made his live-action debut in this episode in the form of Cad Bane. While the voice sounds a little different from The Clone Wars animated series, it has been confirmed that voice-actor Corey Burton was brought in to voice the character once again.

It really seems like things are finally looking up for Star Wars again! I know I can’t wait for the finale next week!

New Stills Released from Today’s Episode of Book of Boba Fett

What an episode of The Book of Boba Fett! If you have not watched today’s episode From the Desert Comes a Stranger, get to your TV or device and check it out before the Internet spoils your surprises. With that said, three new stills have been released for this episode. While none are particularly spoilery, they do give a hint at what to expect from this one.

The images below give us a glimpse at Jennifer Beals’ Garsa Fwip shortly before end of the show, and a look at Boba and Fennec Shand’s reactions to the return of a character to their group.

This episode yet again (makes two in a row), gives us a break from the famous bounty hunter, but goes a long way answering several lingering questions from The Mandalorian season 2. There are several big reveals and a huge character reveal in this episode. If you were down on this series, I highly suggest giving it a try. Each episode gets better and better!

The series hits Disney+ December of 2021. What this means for The Mandalorian is still up in the air, but it sounds like we might be getting two Star Wars shows in December of 2021 featuring Mandalorians.

The Book of Boba Fett will be set within the timeline of The Mandalorian and star Temuera Morrison as the titular bounty hunter, along with Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand. Robert Rodriguez — who directed Chapter 14 of The Mandalorian, a thrilling installment that reintroduced Boba Fett to the Star Wars galaxy — joins Favreau and Dave Filoni as executive producer.

As always, leave your thoughts in the appropriate places.
