Excitement for Star Wars Rebels season 2 is hitting fever pitch right now. Youtube fan “Star Wars Minute“, created a new Rebels trailer with a nod to another of their favorite shows Firefly. Check out their accomplishment below!
I find Rebels to be very similar to Firefly, and I mean that as a compliment in every way. So I recreated the Firefly opening credits using Star Wars Rebels characters and footage!
I did my best to match each characters’ counterpart, but some proved challenging as roles like Wash and Zoe are somewhat combined in Hera. But I’m very happy with how it turned out and I hope you enjoy it!
About Star Wars Rebels Season 2:

Undeterred, the rebels seek out old friends and add powerful allies to their cause, forming the beginnings of a more formidable alliance against the Empire. To stop them, Vader will dispatch new agents to hunt down their growing coalition, determined to snuff them out before they can ignite a galaxy to rebellion.

For some time now, Disney XD has been promoting that Star Wars Rebels Season 2 will return this fall. However, the channel has not revealed an exact date leaving fans to wonder if “fall” means September, October, or November. This issue might be finally put to rest with news coming in that New York Comic-Con 2015 will host a Star Wars Rebels Season 2 preview.
The Star Wars Rebels panel will take place on the Empire Stage from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and be followed by an exclusive screening of two new episodes on the same stage from 5:30-6:30 p.m. These episodes will feature the series debut of Captain Rex, Captain Gregor, and Commander Wolffe — three clones from the hit animated series, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. They join another fan favorite from the show, Ahsoka Tano, who made her Star Wars Rebels debut in the final episode of Season One.
This is very telling, that the show will most likely return this October to Disney XD for season 2. The press release reveals that New York Comic-Con will have an exclusive screening of two new episode that feature the series debut of Captain Rex, Captain Gregor, and Commander Wolfe. Wookipedia has listed the season premiere episode in the fall as an episode titled, “The Lost Commanders” (not counting The Seige of Lothal). This episode is the series debut of those three characters. If the “exclusive new screening” has those three characters in them, and if Wookipedia is accurate, then we can expect an October release for season 2 of Star Wars Rebels.
Star Wars Rebels returns with new episodes this fall on Disney XD.
Star Wars Rebels: Complete Season One delivers all 15 action-packed episodes plus never-before-seen bonus material and cast/crew interviews revealing the magic behind the making of the hit series. Releasing on Blu-ray and DVD on September 1, this is a must-add collection to the library!
In the first groundbreaking season of Star Wars Rebels, young hero Ezra Bridger joins the clever but motley crew of the starship Ghost in their resistance against the Empire. As the series begins, Imperial forces have occupied a remote planet, ruling with an iron fist and ruining the lives of its people. Ezra and his new rebel friends — Hera, Kanan, Sabine, Zeb and Chopper — embark on daring adventures in their fight against oppression across the galaxy, receiving help from familiar heroes such as Lando Calrissian, Ahsoka Tano, and Jedi Master Yoda. Pursued relentlessly by the Imperials and a Jedi hunter called the Inquisitor, this tenacious ragtag band of rebels will find itself in the crosshairs of none other than Darth Vader when season one closes in a shocking two-part finale.
