Introducing the 2024 Disney Legends!

Could Yoda Be in The Last Jedi?

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

With a new Star Wars movie coming, and Luke Skywalker starring in it, we can speculate that we will see ghost Jedi in the film.  Most prominently Yoda and Obi-Wan.  In a new Variety interview with Yoda voice actor Frank Oz, it seems like we might be getting at least Yoda in the film.

Frank Oz started his career as a puppeteer when he met Jim Henson at 19, and he went on to become a successful director of such comedic hits as “What About Bob?,” “In and Out,” and “Bowfinger.”  Of course Star Wars fans know him mostly as the guy who did the puppet work and voice for Yoda in five of the first six Star Wars films.

In the article, he didn’t say that he would be reprising his role as the great Jedi Master, but it’s the way he reacted to a specific question, that sort of gives it away.  Read the quote below and give us your thoughts as to whether he will be in the film or not…

There are reports that you might reprise Yoda in the new “Star Wars.”

I feel like I’m a prisoner at war here, and I can only give you my name, rank and serial number. To be true to the people who asked me, and they are kind of my family, I have to say I’ve been asked not to talk about it. I love Yoda. I would be happy to talk to you about it at the time they let me.

We know that Yoda was originally supposed to be in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, thanks to an ET article.  So this kind of makes sense.
