Watch: Thrilling New The Mandalorian and Grogu Clip Reveals Chaos

During a scheduled appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, creator Jon Favreau shared a highly anticipated The Mandalorian and Grogu clip, giving fans a fresh look at the duo’s upcoming theatrical debut.

Set to premiere in theaters on May 22, the film marks a massive shift for the franchise, moving the beloved Disney+ series into the realm of the summer blockbuster. Favreau, who has spent three years developing the project, highlighted that the jump to cinema allowed the production to push the boundaries of what these characters can do.

Chaos in the Cockpit

The newly revealed The Mandalorian and Grogu clip centers on the high-stakes, often humorous dynamic that has defined the series. The footage finds the Mandalorian attempting to talk Grogu through an emergency repair on their ship.

“Grogu, I need you to go to the control panel,” Mando instructs. “Remember the buttons I told you never to touch? I’m going to need you to touch them.”

As Grogu navigates the “fuel differential readout” and nearly triggers the missile battery, the clip perfectly captures the blend of Star Wars technical detail and character-driven comedy. Favreau explained that for the film, they’ve upgraded the Grogu puppet with sophisticated servos, allowing him to swim, jump, and climb more realistically than ever before.

A Cinematic Milestone

Favreau’s history with the franchise runs deep. During the segment, he recalled his days as a theater usher during the release of Return of the Jedi, emphasizing how much the theatrical experience means to him. Unlike the yearly cycle of a television season, this film has been a long-term labor of love.

“I’m excited to show it to people,” Favreau said. “I’ve never gotten to do Star Wars where you present it to a crowd.”

The footage from the The Mandalorian and Grogu clip suggests that while the scale is larger, the heart of the story remains the same. The transition to film isn’t just about bigger explosions; it’s about bringing fans together in a darkened theater to experience the next chapter of the Mandalorian’s journey.

Looking Ahead to May 22

The conversation briefly touched on Favreau’s massive contributions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and his history with Robert Downey Jr., but the focus remained squarely on the future of the Outer Rim. With the release date of May 22 fast approaching, the promotion for the film is hitting its stride.

Whether it’s the advanced puppetry or the unexpected voice of Martin Scorsese, The Mandalorian and Grogu is shaping up to be the must-see event of the season.

Stay tuned to Outer Rim News for more in-depth coverage as we get closer to the premiere!
