The “Shadow Lord” era of Star Wars is officially arriving at Disney Parks. In a surprise announcement posted by Vadersorder on Instagram, Disney has confirmed that the Devon Izara Lightsaber will officially join the Legacy Lightsaber collection at Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities on April 6, 2026.
This release is strategically timed to coincide with the highly anticipated premiere of the new animated series Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord on Disney+. As fans prepare to meet Devon Izara, the disillusioned Padawan who crosses paths with a post-Clone Wars Darth Maul, they will now have the chance to wield her signature weapon in real life.
Who is Devon Izara?
For those following the casting news, Devon Izara (voiced by Gideon Adlon) is one of the most intriguing new characters in the Filoni-verse. Set roughly a year after the events of The Clone Wars, the series follows Maul as he builds his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire.
The Devon Izara Lightsaber is a reflection of her journey. In the show’s trailers, her hilt features a sleek, refined Jedi aesthetic that contrasts sharply with the gritty, underworld environment she finds herself in.
A Must-Have for Galaxy’s Edge Collectors
Collectors have been waiting for a new addition to the lightsaber vault, especially with the upcoming timeline expansion at Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge scheduled for late April. The Devon Izara Lightsaber serves as the perfect bridge, representing the bridge between the Prequel era and the rise of the Empire.
Early reports from Batuu insiders suggest the hilt will feature the standard high-quality metal construction fans expect from Dok-Ondar’s stock. It is compatible with the standard Galaxy’s Edge blades and is expected to ignite with the character’s signature blue hue. Given the “Limited Release” nature of some recent character hilts, fans are already planning their “Batuu West” and “Batuu East” trips to ensure they secure one on launch day.
Launching Alongside Maul – Shadow Lord
The April 6 launch date is significant. Not only does the show debut that morning, but it marks the beginning of a two-episode-per-week rollout leading up to the May the 4th finale. By putting the Devon Izara Lightsaber in the hands of fans on day one, Disney is leaning heavily into the “merchandise-first” strategy that has made the Black Series and Legacy lines so successful.
Whether Devon remains a Jedi or falls to the apprentice role Maul envisions remains to be seen, but her weapon is already a hit. Stay tuned to Outer Rim News as we get our hands on the hilt this April for a full unboxing and review.
