The 2026 Star Wars collecting season is officially in full swing, and Disney Store has just released one of the most anticipated additions to its newest monthly program. The QT-KT Droid Factory figure is now available, marking the third entry in the ambitious six-month Build-A-Droid series. This vibrant pink astromech isn’t just a colorful addition to a shelf; she carries with her a deep legacy that spans from real-world heroism to the heart of Star Wars: The Clone Wars canon.

The Debut of the QT-KT Droid Factory Figure

Released as part of the “Droid Factory Friday” event for March 2026, the QT-KT figure is a 3.75-inch scale astromech designed with the high level of detail fans have come to expect from the Disney Parks line. Retailing for $19.99, the figure features a fully sculpted body, multiple points of articulation, and the signature pink-and-white paint scheme that makes this droid instantly recognizable.

What makes this release particularly special for collectors is its role in the 2026 Build-A-Droid program. Throughout the first half of this year, Disney is releasing one unique droid per month. Each package includes a specific bonus part. If you collect all six figures from January through June, you will have all the necessary components to assemble an exclusive seventh figure: the TC-332 protocol droid.

The QT-KT release specifically includes the right arm for TC-332. Following the January release of R5-K6 (which included the torso) and February’s CU-28 (which included the head), fans are now halfway to completing their bonus protocol droid.

Who is QT-KT?

For many Star Wars fans, QT-KT is a familiar face from the small screen. She made her primary appearance in The Clone Wars animated series, specifically as the personal astromech for Jedi Master Aayla Secura. QT-KT was a vital member of “D-Squad,” a specialized unit consisting entirely of droids (and one very grumpy organic colonel) tasked with infiltrating Separatist territory to steal an encryption module.

While her technical specs, equipped with a photo-receptor, radar eye, and advanced system ventilation, made her a competent spy aboard Separatist Dreadnoughts, it is her origin story that truly resonates with the community.

The Heart of the Droid: The R2-KT Legacy

The character of QT-KT was inspired by R2-KT, a real-life pink droid created in 2005 by the R2 Builders Club. R2-KT was built for Katie Johnson, the daughter of 501st Legion founder Albin Johnson, after she was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Katie wanted a droid to watch over her just as R2-D2 watched over Padmé Amidala.

Following Katie’s passing, the pink droid became a symbol of hope and a focal point for Star Wars charity work. Dave Filoni and the team at Lucasfilm eventually brought the droid into official canon. To avoid confusion with R2-D2 during dialogue in The Clone Wars, the “R2” designation was changed to “QT” (a play on “cutie”), and thus QT-KT was born. By purchasing the QT-KT Droid Factory figure, fans are owning a piece of that heartwarming history.

Completing the Collection

If you are looking to complete the TC-332 droid, you’ll need to stay vigilant. The 2026 schedule is as follows:

  • January: R5-K6 (A New Hope) – Torso
  • February: CU-28 (The Mandalorian) – Head
  • March: QT-KT (The Clone Wars) – Right Arm
  • April: DD-BD (Solo: A Star Wars Story) – Left Arm
  • May: R4-6DO (The Mandalorian) – Right Leg
  • June: B2EMO (Andor) – Left Leg

The QT-KT Droid Factory figure is currently SOLD OUT at DisneyStore.com, but you can still find it at select locations within Disney Parks. Given the popularity of the Build-A-Droid series and the limited nature of these monthly drops, fans should move quickly to ensure they don’t miss out on this “ambassador of hope.”
