We all know that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be the last movie in the “Skywalker Saga”. This has led many to believe that it will end, not only the story told of the classic characters, but those of sequel trilogy as well.

Well hold your horses for a bit. In a new video from MTV News (seen in the embed below), Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy indicates that this may not be the last time we see some of the leads in the film…

“You know, there is an appropriate time. We’re using this appropriate time as an opportunity to see where we’re going now that we’re leaving the Skywalker Saga behind,” she revealed. “But there’s no question that there’s certain characters that we’ve created certainly in the last three movies that we may very well wanna see down the line in the future.”

Check out the video below for the full interview.

The interview above also gives us other information about the future of the franchise including a possible Knights of the Old Republic movie, and female directors taking a crack at directing future Star Wars films.
