While promoting Star Wars: The Last Jedi in Tokyo, Japan, director Rian Johnson revealed that actor Joseph Gordan-Levitt will have a voice-over role in the upcoming film. Johnson revealed this information during a recent fan event

“My very good friend, the actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who was in a movie I made called Looper, he does a cameo as a voice of an alien in the film. So, it’s a very brief little thing, but it’s fun and if you watch the movie maybe you’ll be able to hear and pick out Joe’s voice in the movie.”

As you can probably surmise from the information above, Gordon-Levitt starred in the film Looper which was directed by Rian Johnson. The two became friends and the rest is history.

This is just another case of star actors getting small cameo’s in the biggest franchise of all time.  2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens saw Daniel Craig cameo as a First Order Stormtrooper.
