Disney Testing the Market for a Luxury Star Wars Resort?

Published

on

Luxury Star Wars Resort

It seems Disney is testing the market to see if Star Wars fans would support a luxury Star Wars resort and experience, which would be attached to Hollywood Studios.  Disney is using a contracted third party through Swagbucks.com to survey the market. The survey includes concept art and many details of what the experience would be like…

From the looks of the concept art and designs, this looks like a Star Wars fan’s dreams come to life.  However, read on for further details and pricing…

Luxury Star Wars Resort

Guest Cabins

This all-inclusive, 2-night immersive resort experience at Walt Disney World would include:

  • The opportunity to experience a 2-day story set in the the Star Wars universe
  • Be surrounded in a continuous, story-driven entertainment experience as it unfolds over the course of the 2-night stay
  • Have personal interactions with Star Wars characters, live performers throughout the starship (experience the story or simply observe the action according to personal preference)
  • Engage in the story with programs such as flight training, ship exploration, lightsaber training, and personalized secret missions (both on the starship and throughout the Star Wars themed planet)
Luxury Star Wars Resort

Lobby

While staying aboard an all-inclusive luxury “starship” at Walt Disney World, guests will stay in luxury accommodations offering:

  • All meals during your stay: buffet breakfasts, lunches, & signature evening dining
  • Featured entertainment & dinner shows
  • Exclusive park admission to the Star Wars themed land at the Walt Disney World Resort (a new land opening at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2019)
  • Star Wars starship amenities including pool area & water garden, fitness area, on-board cantina, and robotic droid Butlers

While this does sound very enticing, this will cost each guest about $900 to $1000!  So a family of four would pay a $4000.00 premium to stay at this thing while visiting Star Wars Land at Disney parks!  So the question is, would you as a fan be willing to drop this kind of money for something like this?  As always, leave your thoughts in the appropriate places…

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Exclusive Merchandise

The fine folks over at the Disney Parks Blog, have given us a taste of what’s to come for some of the merchandise that will be exclusive to the park. As you can see from the image above there will be a plush Kylo Ren, First Order Stormtrooper, Chewbacca, porg, Yoda, and Watto toys. No doubt, that is just the tip of the iceberg though.

At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, guests will visit the planet of Batuu, a remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge that was once a busy crossroads along the old sub-lightspeed trade routes. Here, guests will find themselves in the middle of the action at two attractions that take detail and immersion to the next level: one that lets guests take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.

Guests will also be able to explore a street market run by a Toydarian, a character first introduced in “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace.” Among his wares will be handcrafted toys made by local artisans, like those seen above.

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is set to open at both the Disneyland and the Walt Disney World Resorts in 2019.

Star Wars Galaxy's Edge Model

A few weeks ago the Disney Park’s blog was updated with an article showcasing a milestone in the construction of Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The milestone was a construction beam signing by Imagineers and cast members at the park. This is an important milestone in the construction phase of any Disney attraction.

To celebrate this milestone, a video was created showcasing the signers. The signed beam will eventually be part of the construction and a remembrance for those that participated in it.

Thousands of Disney cast members excited to see Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge coming to life at Disney’s Hollywood Studios celebrated a major construction milestone with the signing of a support beam that’ll top out the new land.
